New pistols from STTI

STTI soon to be released XDM compact metal slide gas blowback airsoft pistol.
The standard XDM is amazing as it is so I believe this compact is going to be great as well. The shorter metal slide should be pretty light so expect this XDM compact to have a fast crisp blowback.

Strike industries MITCH handguard

Strike Industries’ most ambitious project thus is the MITCH series handguard for the AR15. Sticking with the patented polymer formulation and to an already winning formula S.I. has made some tweaks and improved upon outdated AR-15 handguard designs.
Not everyone wants a fancy rail or handguard so we went on a mission to make a handguard that is economical and can be used with a standard AR platform rifle. The MITCH design is true plug-and-play, eliminating the need to replace a barrel nut, front sight post, or buy a low profile gas block.
S.I. changed the round handguard into a more comfortable and slimmer design, tweaked and lightened the internal heat shield, and made it modular. Not everyone needs rails (or don't need them all the time) so we made them optional; you can have rails if you wish by simply bolting them on. Perhaps the coolest feature is the integrated lower handstop which can be moved to any position in the bottom slot and into any direction. We also have more integrated options on our flagship handguard coming soon. The MITCH is an economical upgrade that not only enhances the look of your rifle but also gives you some ergonomic improvement. The modular design gives the user the option of using what he or she chooses.

WE M4a1 AEG

Not sure If I like this idea. Many M4a1s already on the market and with the spring release function.. its just too much of a gimmick... you could really just pull the trigger twice on single to return the spring to the relaxed position on normal AEGs.

The beautiful and extremely talented Jessie Harrison and recently Mrs Duff has now officially been signed to Captain Taurus Firearm's Shooting Team.
For a while now, ever since she left Team Glock, Jessie has been a lone agent shooting and winning comps and there has always been speculation about who she was going to sign to and which lucky company was going to snap her up.
Well.. Its now official .. Jessie Harrison is now Captain of Team Taurus.
Maybe we will get to see her blazing through comps and collecting trophies with some of the new Taurus Line.

AIRSOFT - General Knowledge about HI CAPA pistols

Tokyo Marui Hi capa 5.1

Hi Capa Pistol. A very popular model of airsoft pistol with skirmishers and target shooters alike. Unfortuntely most UK airsofters do not know much about the pistol except for ...'OOO PWETTTYYY!'
You'll also hear things like ' thats a nice gun, so which army uses them...' or 'thats a nice 1911!' and once in a while you find the occasional geardo, airsoft re-enactor in a full SAS load out, accurate to the teeth but spotting a hi capa in the holster.

Well lets start off with.... the airsoft Hi-capa was 1st made by the infamous Tokyo Marui company and now copied and cloned by countless other companies.

STI 2011 Eagle

There is no such thing as a REAL Hi-capa. This 'Hi Capa' term was coined by Tokyo Marui which means Hi Capacity (hi capa) as it is doubled stacked and can take over 30 bbs. It is however BASED on a real pistol which is the 2011 range of STI firearms pistols... and yes it is not a 1911, it is in fact a 2011. STI firearms noted that the 1911 platform although popular had its limitations and flaws and thus created the 2011 which kept the best of the 1911 but improved a few other things and most importantly improved magazine capacity from the standard 1911 7+1 magazine to a double stacked 26+1 magazine.

There are no known police forces or military units currently issued with the STI 2011 pistols so for geardos and airsoft re-enactors, this is a big no no in terms of gear accuracy unless your load out is that of a competitive shooter. The 2011 range of pistols are predominantly 'race pistols' which are extremely popular within the competitive shooting community because of its modular design and 'straight from Factory' high quality.

So where does this leave us shooters and weekend warriors in the UK?
Well... if you are considering buying an airsoft Hi capa.. then.. YES buy one. But for goodness sake buy a Tokyo Marui version as it is the best one in my opinion or at least a KJ works CO2 one. The plastic slide of the TM version adds to the cycle speed making it a speed demon and the Tokyo Marui high quality internals mean you don't really have to upgrade anything as like the REAL 2011 it is fantastic straight out of the box. The KJW versions are CO2 powered and are a real hoot to shoot as its blowback or recoil force is second to none and really will test your grip and fundamentals. EX Real steel shooters will like the CO2 KJW pistols. For Both brands the magazine and gas capacity is fantastic, the ergonomics is based on the tried, tested and loved real steel 2011 so you can't go wrong and it is simply quite PWETTY. For some customised beauties, do check out the brands Airsoft Surgeon and SAPH. For variants do check out Tokyo Marui or KJ Works.

Taken from http://www.kyledefoor.com

Kyle Defoor has voiced his disapproval of the Black Hawk Serpa Holsters.

'Whoever chose this piece of shit to be issued to anyone- you're an inexperienced pistol shooter who has no common sense. Hope you got a decent kickback from Blackhawk.'

Full comment see http://www.kyledefoor.com/2012/02/no-more-serpa-holsters-in-my-classes.html

Very interesting and valid view on SERPA holsters. I do own a few Serpas but hardly use them because of not being able to get along with the trigger push button.. will do the mod on them as he has suggested and maybe I will get along better with them being a simple retention holster.. no point them sitting on my shelve collecting dust!
